Tank Requirements
To accommodate their social nature, it’s best to keep Corydoras eques in groups of at least five or more. A minimum tank size of 20 gallons is recommended, with a soft substrate to protect their sensitive barbels. They prefer slightly acidic to neutral water conditions (pH 6.0 to 7.5) and a temperature range of 72°F to 78°F (22°C to 26°C). Providing plenty of hiding spots and open swimming areas will enhance their well-being.
Compatibility
Corydoras eques are peaceful fish that get along well with a variety of community tankmates. They can be housed with other small, non-aggressive species, such as tetras, rasboras, and other peaceful bottom-dwellers. However, it’s essential to avoid aggressive or fin-nipping species that may stress them.
